Chapter 196 – Shiro’s Species
“So, this happened due to not drinking enough water?”
“Aye, that is the case. There was nothing that would cause indigestion.”
“That’s good.”
“If they were exercising more than usual, then that could be a reason for dehydration. But Kuro and Ruru were the same.”
“Indeed. They generally eat the same amount and exercise together.”
“And since Roro didn’t eat anything secretly, the only difference could be the amount of water that she drank.”
And so I called out to Roro, who was playing with the others.
“Roro, did you hear that? You need to drink more water.”
“Au…”
“You too, Kuro and Ruru.”
‘Water!’
‘Drink.’
“If you need to go to the bathroom, just tell me or Fio.”
“Yes!”
Fio stood up and walked over to the wolf cubs.
“Or even Shiro.”
“Wuff.”
“You can tell me as well. Even though I won’t understand, as I don’t have the taming skill. Well, if they look like they want to go, I will take them.”
Said Kelly.
Now I could relax when it came to this matter concerning the wolf cubs.
Victor, after seeing that we were finished with that discussion, opened his mouth.
“Ms. Kelly. What about this stuff about fenrirs? I am very curious about that.”
“Ah… Yes, I forgot to make a report. Shiro.”
“Wuff.”
And then Shiro moved over to Kelly.
Kelly got up from her seat.
“Shiro. Could you get up on this chair?”
“Wou.”
And then Shiro climbed onto the chair.
“I will now explain to you the distinct characteristics about fenrirs. First, look at these claws.”
Kelly walked around to the back and picked up Shiro’s paw so that we could see.
“They look quite normal to me…”
“So you think so too, Mr. Victor. Indeed, they do not seem very different. So I am not surprised that you can not tell.”
Kelly sai.
And then she took out a fist–size crystal out of her pocket.
“Please look at this.”
As I was eager to see what she was going to do, I got up from my seat and moved so I was right in front of Kelly and Shiro.
‘Kuro too.’
“Au.”
‘Watch.’
The wolf cubs and Hippolius also wanted to see, and they gathered around my feet.
“Kelly, please wait a moment with the demonstration. Kuro, Roro, Ruru and Hippolius say that they want to see as well.”
“Ah, very well.”
I then put them up onto a desk.
Gisela and Fio also leaned forward against it and watched Shiro with interest.
Even the Adventurers were curious, and there was a small crowd gathered behind me.
“Now, look here again. Shiro, try scratching this stone.”
“Wuff.”
Shiro raised her paw and scratched the crystal mass.
“Thank you. Good job, Shiro.”
“Wau.”
Shiro wagged her tail happily.
Kelly inspected the crystal and smiled boastfully.
And then she showed it to us.
“See? Look at this.”
“…There is a scratch on the crystal.”
Victor said. While he was composed, I could see that he was still surprised.
“Yes. Mr. Victor. Do you know of any demon wolves who can scratch crystals like this with their claws?”
“I’ve never seen or heard of such a thing.”
These were a type of very hard ore.
And so it would be very difficult for humans or beasts to scratch them.
When it came to things that could scratch crystals, diamonds and gemstones like ruby, sapphire, and topaz, which are much harder than claws, were well known.
Apparently, Shiro’s claws were at least harder than crystal.
