Chapter 141 – Laying down the floor tiles
I also could not forget to add drain ditches at equal intervals.
The drains were square cylinders with lids.
“Phew. That should do it for now…”
As I was focused when using my crafting skill, I wondered what the wolf cubs were doing now.
‘Let’s play!’
“Wou!”
‘Play.’
“There, there.”
For some reason, they were playing with Gisela now.
“Gisela. I thought you went to work in the fields?”
“I just came back to get some drinking water and water to use in the fields!”
Today was another hot day. And so it was no wonder you would become thirsty while working outside.
There was a water faucet in the dining hall, but not in Boaboa’s house.
“I see. It’s nice that you are playing with the wolf cubs, but don’t you have to go back?”
“Yes, I’ll go right now! See you later, Kuro, Roro and Ruru.”
So saying, Gisela picked up a bucket of water that was larger than she was.
“…You sure are strong.”
“Amazing!”
“Grau!”
Fio and Shiro stared at Gisela with deep respect.
“Later then!”
Gisela said as she ran off with the barrel.
“Wau-waut”
“Au!”
“Kyuun.”
The wolf cubs watched sadly as she left.
When I walked over to them…
“Finished?”
“Just the floor. I have to do the walls and roof next.”
“Oh.”
And then I patted them on the head.
“It will just take a little longer. So play together and wait.”
‘Snack.’
“Au.”
‘Okay.’
While Roro and Ruru were understanding, Kuro wanted to eat.
“Snacks, huh… Wait a minute.”
In terms of education, it was not good to feed them whenever they asked.
However, the cubs were small due to having been captured by the false demon bear.
While they were gaining weight, they would still be healthy if they gained even more.
And so I took out some cooked boar meat from my magic bag and put it on a plate for them.
‘Yummy.’
“Auu.”
‘Good.’
They ate it ravenously.
Most of the meat in my bag did not have any flavor added to it.
This was because it was meant to be given to Hippolius, Shiro and the wolf cubs.
“Shiro, eat this.”
“Grau!”
“Fio too!”
“I see. Yes, you should eat too, Fio.”
I took out more plates for Shiro and Fio.
“Wamu-wamu.”
Shiro seemed to enjoy the meat.
Fio sat down on a rock and held the plate on her lap.
“Fio use chopstick!”
Fio took out two thin sticks from her pocket and held them together.
Then she stabbed the meat and ate it.
“Oh, what is that?”
“Gisela gave to me. Chopstick!”
Apparently, Gisela had named two sticks and given them to her.
“Huh. Is it used like a fork?”
“Yes! Like fork.”
“I see. Well, I suppose that works.”
But part of me was thinking that a fork would be easier.
“Gisela found this tool far away!”
“Huh…”
I suppose it was something she discovered on her many travels.
It would surely be easier to make than a wooden fork.
And if one broke, it would be easy to replace it with a twig.
So perhaps it would be convenient to use while traveling.
“Do you want to eat something, Pii?”
I asked Pii, who was resting on my head.
‘Already eating.’
“I see.”
Apparently, it was eating my waste products.
When Pii was riding on me, I became clean before I knew it.
And while there was nothing wrong about it, it did feel a little strange.
“Eat as much as you want.”
“Au-au!”
I petted the wolf cubs and thought of Hippolius.
Was Hippolius eating now as well?
Was Hippolius working, resting and playing properly?
As I thought of such things, Fio finished her food first and then said,
“Theo. Next is walls?”
“That’s right. And then the ceiling.”
“Ohh.”
“And I want to test to see if the design will work, and the water will flow out when it rains. But…”
I looked up at the sky.
It was clear and blue, without a single cloud in sight.
Fio and Shiro looked up at it as well.
“Sunny!”
“Yes.”
“I wonder when it will rain again.”
“Go ask!”
Fio said, and then she ran off with Shiro.
“Go ask…? Ah, the teacher.”
The Climatologist would be able to predict the weather.
I suppose Fio knew where he was.
“Well, if she can’t find him, then she’ll return.”
She was also with Shiro, so she should be fine.
Thanks for the chapter!
Thanks for the treat.
