Strange Dragon – 142

Chapter 142 – Snack for the Wolf Cubs

After Fio and Shiro had run off, I petted the backs of the wolf cubs as they ate the meat.

Each ate at a different pace.

Roro was the fastest.

Next was Kuro.

And Ruru was the slowest.

“Wou-au.”

Roro finished and began to walk around my feet.

“You want more?”

‘More.’

Kuro said as he sat down in front of his plate after finishing.

He was waiting for me to put more meat inside.

“Hmm. Well…”

If they ate too much now, they might not be hungry during lunch time.

As I was thinking this, Ruru pushed some of her meat into Kuro’s plate.

‘Give.’

“Wou?”

Apparently, Ruru felt sorry for the hungry Kuro.

“Alright then. Ruru, you should eat your own portion. Kuro, wait a moment. I’ll give you some more.”
“Wou-wou!”

Well, even if it was a snack, it was still meat.

So maybe it wasn’t too bad to eat a lot of it.

Besides, I didn’t want Ruru to develop a habit of sharing with Kuro and the Roro.

And so I added more meat to Kuro’s plate.

“What about you two?”

“Au-au.”
“Amuo-amu.”

Now that Kuro had more food, Ruru could eat hers without worrying.

As for Roro, she was barking and trying to climb up my legs.

Roro did not talk as much as the other two.

Still, I could tell that she wanted me to pick her up. And so I did.

“You don’t want any more?”
“Au-au.”

Roro started to lick my face.

While I played with Roro, the other two finished eating.

And then they wanted to play and be picked up as well.

“Alright, alright.”

And so I picked Kuro and Ruru up.

While they were still small, it was not easy to carry all three at the same time.

“Well, it’s fine. This is my break, after all.”

Fio and Shiro were usually the ones to look after them.

And so I could not return to work until they got back.

“Theo! We asked!”
“Grau-grau.”

And then Fio returned while riding on Shiro.

“That was impressive.”
“Smell!”

“Grau.”

Shiro had a good sense of smell.

And so she was able to find where the Climatologist was.

Fio looked bashful as she took Kuro and Roro from me.

And then Shiro picked up Ruru.

“Thank you.”
“Ehehe.”
“Wuff.”

“So, what did the Climatologist say?”

“No rain!”

“Wuff.”

“I see. So the weather will be good today.”
“Yes!”
“Wuff!”

The Climatologist probably knew a lot more than that.

The wind, the changes of temperature. The cloud formations.

However, explaining such things would just confuse Fio and Shiro.

And so a simple ‘no rain’ would be enough.

“Well, if it’s not going to rain, then I can’t test it now.”

But that was fine. If it turned out to be a failure, I could just remake it with the crafting skill.

It was troublesome, but not impossible.

And so I decided to move on to creating the walls and roof.

However, Fio and Shiro continued happily.

“Make it rain!”

“Wuff!”
“Huh? How?”

“Alya make it rain!”

“Wuff-wuff.”

And then Fio pointed to a nearby building.

One Adventurer was standing in the shadows in front.

“Alya is going to make it rain?”

Alya was not only an Adventurer and a brilliant magician, but also the only demon in the team.

“I can make it rain if you want.”

Alya muttered.

Alya did not talk much. In fact, I had probably only heard Alya’s voice a few times.

That being said, it wasn’t like she did not stand out.

She held a staff that was just as tall as she was, and wore a robe with a cowl.

Even during the summer.

And though everyone always wondered if she was not too hot, she seemed to have her reasons for it.

“If you can make it rain, that would help… But is it really possible?”
“I can. Just the courtyard, yes?”
“Yes… I’m surprised you could tell.”

Perhaps Alya was a lot smarter than I realized.
That was what I thought.
