I gave her the vase and flowers
“It would be a little sad if I let you handle everything. So wait one moment…”
“Uh… Mr. Takumi?”
I spoke to her reassuringly and then took out the thing I had hidden under the table.
“Um…here. Please accept this. Think of it as an expression of gratitude for everything you’ve done up until now.”
“Oh. How pretty…”
It was the white flower vase I bought at Mr. Haines’s store, as well as flowers I had made with Weed Cultivation.
Also, it was tied up with a red ribbon.
“Are these…roses? But I’ve never seen them in these colors before.”
“Yes.”
The petals were yellow near the center, and gradually became pale white.
“They are white roses, but they are a little yellow right before being in full bloom. I thought it was pretty because it reminded me of your hair.”
“My hair…”
“Also, I don’t know what they are called in this world. But in mine, they were called Claire Austin.”
“Does that mean that you…”
“Yes. I was thinking about you when making them. And so it was perfect.”
Once I had decided to give her flowers, I remembered that there was a flower with that name. And considering the colors, there was no better choice.
“Also…”
While it may look like I was showing off, I told her the other meanings as well.
“In my world, there is a flower language. A meaning when sending someone flowers… For Claire Austin, I think it is…respect from the heart, keeping promises, and innocence.”
“I see.”
There were also others, such as ‘purity,’ but it would be awkward to say that right here.
“Yes. Also, there is meaning in the number of roses as well. It means, ‘from my heart, I am glad to have met you.’”
“Oh…!”
Claire looked up from the vase and her eyes widened.
There were five roses inside of the vase.
It was because there was meaning in the number, that I had not wanted to get the smaller vase.
“Mr. Takumi…”
“Uh, Claire. I think it’s time that I tell you…um…I really…am glad that you were the first person that I met in this world. And being able to spend time with you has made me feel like the luckiest man in the world.”
“Oh, I… I feel the same.”
“I’m glad to hear that.”
While it was a little awkward, I managed to say it.
I wasn’t used to this kind of thing, after all… And I doubted I would ever get used to it.
Unless it was just with Claire…
“Th-thank you. The flowers are so beautiful. And I never knew about the meaning before…”
“It’s probably different here.”
Claire muttered as she looked at the roses in the vase.
“Hehe. The same name as me. That makes them feel very special.”
She smiled and my heart jumped in my chest.
“Of course, they are special. I made them just for you.”
“Mr. Takumi… The ribbon of red lace is also very nice.”
“Ah, that is…”
The lace ribbon had detailed patterns on it. In fact, it had been Sebastian who delivered it to me.
After I talked to all of the servants, the ones who had the necessary skills had come together to make it.
And just as I was about to make the roses, Sebastian came out of the house and handed it to me.
He said that I could use it with the present, or that perhaps Claire could wear it as an accessory.
I tied it into a simple bow, because I did not know any other way… And I also failed and had to retry it several times.
Regardless, Claire seemed to like it, much to my relief…
Thanks for the chapter.
