Day 111: The Medicine Was…

Now, since it was morning, I had to go and check up on Ms. Nico.
She probably stayed up all night and forgot to eat… And so I am worried.
For that reason, I asked the inn to make lunch boxes and then I went to the Alchemist Guild.
I then headed to the room we rented yesterday and knocked on the door. However, there was no reaction.
This was to be expected. Once Ms. Nico gets started, she loses sight of everything else.
And so I quietly opened the door…!
Woah. What is this smell… The horrible stench of decay!
Even Ms. Noa was covering her mouth and nose and had tear eyes.
I wanted to see what was going on inside…but this was impossible.
That’s it! I have to open the door and hallway windows to ventilate the room!
After opening the windows and waiting for some time, the stench finally became bearable.
Yes, now I can enter the room.
When I entered hesitantly…Ms. Nico was on the ground!
Had the smell killed her!? Are you alright!? Are you alive!?
I frantically held her up and saw that she was breathing quietly.
Ah? Huh? She’s just sleeping? Do-don’t scare me like that.
However, it’s amazing that she can sleep like this…
After waiting for a short while, Ms. Nico yawned and opened her eyes.
And once she saw us, she blinked and tilted her eyes with a puzzled expression.

I sadi, and Ms. Nico nodded with eyes that were not focused.
She then stood up shakily without her classes and grabbed a small vial from the table.
It contained a yellowish green liquid… Hey, wait a minute! That looks familiar!
However, Ms. Nico drank all of it before I could stop her.
It was…medicine that allowed you to work without sleep or rest.
As I was thinking about the effects, Ms. Nico turned to us again.
All hints of sleepiness were erased from her face, and she greeted us with a sharp expression.
And then, in an unusually cheerful tone, she explained the medicine to us.
Hmm. That medicine really was no good. I should confiscate it from her.
Ah, as for the medicine that she created, it was a deodorizer.
Apparently, it was so good that it could fool orcs you encountered in dungeons.
It erased smells, but created that horrible stench…? Alchemy really was mysterious.
Still, there would surely be demand for such a thing!
After all, it would be very useful against orcs in dungeons.
Now, how should we sell it?
As I wondered about it, Ms. Nicos said that the Alchemist Guild would buy it.
Apparently, they didn’t have enough of them because few people wanted to make them.
And so the price was higher than usual now.
Well, considering the horrible smell, it was no surprise people would avoid it.
Alright, let’s sell them at the guild then.
Besides, it might offend them if we sold the medicine somewhere else.
