The culprit apologized
“Huh!? The wall of ice was shocking, but now there’s a Silver Fenrir!? Why is there one here…! Wait, could it be Leo!?”
I heard the voice again from the other side of the wall.
Could it be…who I was thinking of?
“If Leo is here, then it’s not dangerous after all… Sorry! But the magic is completed! I can’t stop it…”
“Wuff.”
“Huh? Really!?”
“Wou-wou.”
“Alright! Sorry, Leo! Extreme-explosion!”
Yes. It was him, after all.
He sounded frantic, as he was unable to stop the magic after the chanting was completed.
But Leo remained calm as she barked at him.
And then the magic was unleashed, and even from behind the wall, I could see the swelling of something destructive…
It was magic that humans should not be using…
And yet…
“Guruuowwoooooo!!”
There was a strange, powerful howl. And though I had never heard anything like it before, I could tell that it was Leo.
A moment later, there was the sound of a blast, and the ground shook.
—
“I’m so sorry! I saw that a group of fenrirs were moving towards the town, and I thought they might be planning to do something!”
“I tried to stop Lord Euto, but he wouldn’t listen… No, I should not make any excuses. It was my fault. I am sorry.”
Both he and Ms. Lugretta were bowing on the ground in front of me and Leo.
While he did not seem to care about it, especially since no one else here knew about it, he was actually the most important person in the country…
He currently had the rank of Grand Duke, but was in fact the first king and founder of this country…
Also, he was from my world and the Gift as well. And he did not age due to some kind of magic.
Ms. Lugretta was his personal bodyguard. I couldn’t help but think he did not need protection, but I suppose she was supposed to stop him from doing anything foolish.
“Uh… What should we do?”
“Hmm…this is troublesome… Especially having Lord Euto bowing like this… Well, we can just say it is because of Leo.”
“Really…?”
Both Sebastian and Claire were with me now..
Sebastian was narrowing his eyes, and was unusually at a loss about what to do.
“Well…Mr. Takumi. Father was like that with Leo too. And something similar happened in Range Village.”
“Ah, that is true.”
Mr. Euto had done something similar when we first met in Range Village.
“Anyway… Leo isn’t angry at you… So it’s fine?”
“Wuff. Wuff-wuff.”
“If anything, she says it was fun, being able to use magic.”
For Leo, it was something like stress relief or exercise.
Though, once the ice wall went down, I saw that all the grass on the other side was burned…
The fenrirs then had to put out the fire.
“I was doing it at full power, though… But if you forgive me…I am grateful…”
Mr. Euto raised his head and saw Leo, who did not look tired at all. If anything, she was enjoying herself.
“So, Takumi and Leo. Uh, the fenrirs are slowly moving towards me now… It’s a little scary…”
He stood up awkwardly and noticed the looks he was getting from the fenrirs.
Ms. Lugretta got up as well. But she was more calm. Perhaps it was because she knew that we weren’t hostile, and could not hurt him…
