Day 122: Carving Work.
Holy Era 6102, Month of the Moon Sheep, 13th day.
Weather: Sunny
Last night was very fun.
I never thought the night sky would look so beautiful when looking up at it from the beach…
I would really like to come here again one day.
After eating breakfast, we cleaned up in order to return to town.
Of course, we gathered our garbage first! We did not want to make a mess like that other beach!
As we worked early in the morning, we were also able to arrive in the town quite early.
Yes, there would be plenty of time to work.
And so we went to the Adventurers Guild to look at the requests.
The atmosphere was back to normal now.
It was amazing that the guild workers had been able to deal with everything in just one day…
I had been worried that it would still be chaotic, but everything looked fine.
And so it was with great relief that I looked at the quest board. Ms. Nico then brought one of the requests over to me.
You want to do this one? Uh…carving the kraken?
That’s unusual…for something like this to be a request.
I suppose it was so big that the guild workers couldn’t handle it by themselves?
The pay was quite good, and you also could take some materials…
Alright, let’s do this one! Besides, it sounded interesting.
And so we headed to the port storage house with a feeling of excitement. However…
I regretted everything as soon as I entered it… It was no wonder this was not popular.
It smelled, really, really bad! Like something was rotting?
The storage house was kept cool with ice, but the kraken was so big…
And so the ice was not enough, and the body was starting to decay in the heat.
As I scowled at the overwhelming stench, one of the workers approached us.
He handed us some cloth to cover our noses and mouths, as well as goggles to protect our eyes. And then we were given some knives to carve with.
Once we were fully equipped, we followed orders and got to work.
We used the blades to remove the parts that had gone bad, and swiftly cooled the parts that were still good.
Ugh! It’s slimy! Slimy! Ahhh! Something splashed!
…Dealing with namekus was better than this… I want to cry.
We worked hard until evening, and then it was finally finished…
My whole body smells terrible…I want to hurry up and take a shower.
As I was thinking this, the workers told us that a shower had been prepared.
That’s wonderful! Let’s go at once!
And so I quickly took a bath, but… Ahhh!! My body is tingling.
Apparently, it was because I got sunburnt yesterday.
I stink and my body hurts… This is the worst!
After I finished bathing, I stepped out with tear eyes to see the others looking refreshed as they waited.
But as I was about to say, ‘That sunburn was terrible, huh?’, they turned to me and…
Ms. Noa chuckled and said apologetically that she did not get sunburn.
As for Ms. Nico, she told me that I should have worn a white lab coat like her…
Look, no one wears a labcoat at the beach!
In the end, I was the only one who got a sunburn… It hurt so much.
