My Beloved Dog is the Strongest in Another World – 1332

He wanted to erase the story about the ring

“Uh, but… Sebastian said it quite clearly. That it was the first king. I think he read about it from some book.”
“Good grief… The details were recorded then… I thought I had all of those books burned. Somehow, they remained…”

Book burning!? That sounded like oppression…

Obviously, he used to be the most powerful person in the country, so it would have been possible to do such a thing.

Well, he was probably joking about the book burning.

“Still, such books must be quite rare. I wonder how he acquired it?”

“Well, it’s Sebastian. I’m sure he was able to find it somehow.”

He had said before that he collected books in order to gather knowledge.

“In any case, please don’t talk about that ring. It was a traumatic moment for me. And that is coming from someone who enjoys being treated coldly now and then.”
“Alright then. From here, there will be no mention of such strange things. We will talk seriously.”
“Very well. Though, I don’t know what is so serious about men talking about their tastes in women…”

He wasn’t wrong.

From the view of the women, they probably thought what we were doing was a little insulting.

However, this was for Ms. Lugretta’s sake. And they knew it, so Claire and the others would not look down on us.

We then returned to Phillip and Nicholas.

“Uhem! Sorry for that distraction…let’s get back on topic. Uh…I just want to know if there is anyone who you are currently interested in. And if not, what is your preference… Tell me those kinds of things.”
“Neither for me… I only care about my training and becoming stronger.”

Nicholas said seriously.

I was starting to think that I would have been better off talking to Mr. Euto alone.

Well, it wasn’t really the kind of thing to do one on one. But any of the other young butlers would have been better.

“What are you talking about, Nicholas? There is that Ms. Corint. Isn’t she the same age as you? She was quite bold towards you, and you didn’t seem to mind. It’s because you like her, isn’t it?”
“Oh? Really? I thought that Nicholas was even more serious than Takumi. Not bad!”

While I was regretting my decisions, Phillip and Mr. Euto began to grin and poke at Nicholas.

They really enjoyed this kind of talk.

“Ms. Corint is very…pretty…well, cute. What do you think, Nicholas?”
“What do I th-think? Umm…she talks to me a lot when I train…which makes it difficult to concentrate.”
“Oh? Are you saying she is a nuisance, Nicholas?”

Phillip said teasingly, but it was clear that he was quite jealous.

“No-no, I didn’t say… I am grateful that she takes time to speak to me. As Mr. Takumi said, she is very…cute. I do not know enough about her personality, as we only met recently. Still, she is very cheerful towards me, even though I do not say much.”
“Hohoho… I think Nicholas here is more than a little attracted to Ms. Corint.”

I didn’t know if it was anything serious, but he was clearly not indifferent towards her.

Regardless, given how serious Nicholas usually was, just hearing him describe her as cute and cheerful seemed quite significant.

“I’m sure you already know this, Nicholas, but Ms. Corint is very enthusiastic about getting married one day. I think she expected to settle down happily in Range Village. And so I am a little surprised that she has set eyes on a guard, who will likely move from place to place often.”

As for appearances and personality, that was a matter of personal preference. But Nicholas was serious and looked quite impressive when holding a sword. So in a way, maybe it wasn’t that surprising…
