Chapter 98 – Where to install the sink

Fio became very excited when she saw the large clump of alloy that was created.
“Woah!”
She shouted.

“It’s so big!”
“It’s not just the sink, but the pipes will be made of this too.”
“I see!”

Hippolius and the wolf cubs were interested in the metal as well, as they came running towards us.

“Not this.”
“Pi!”
But they listened obediently and did not touch it.

“Good. This is material.”

Once the alloy was made, the rest was easy.
The structure was not complicated, or very large.

And so I crafted the sink that I had planned in my head with the crafting skill.

“Amazing!”

Fio was even more excited than when she saw the alloy.
Making the alloy was actually more difficult, but I suppose seeing a sink appear as if growing out of the ground was more visually interesting.

As for the remaining metal, it was heavy, and so I put it in the magic bag for now.

“Good, now I just need to install it…”

I picked up the sink and carried it into the house.

“Fio, carry.”
“I’m fine. But thank you.”

Fio offered to help, but it wasn’t that heavy.
It was lighter than the wolf cubs, even.

“More importantly, Fio. Can you call that young man from earlier?”
“Okay!”

He was one of the Adventurers who lived here.
Apparently, since he had worked hard for the previous two days, this was his day off.
So he should be relaxing in the dining hall with the other Adventurers who were resting.

“Wuffu!”
“You wolf cubs will wait here with me.”
“Wuff.”

I stopped them as they tried to run after Fio.
Shiro then started to lick Kuro.

And so I left the cubs to Shiro, and carried the sink into the building.
Once I was inside, Shiro and the cubs, as well as Hippolius, followed me.

“The door is barely wide enough. Next time, I should craft it while inside.”

Once I was through the door, there was a decently wide communal area.
And then there were doors that connected to the private rooms.

“So, where should I install it…”

For something like this, it would be best to find out the opinions of the people who lived here.
That was why I had asked Fio to go and call him.

After waiting for a short while, Fio came in through the door.

“Finished?”
“Not yet.”

And then Hippolius and the wolf cubs started to jump onto Fio.

A moment later, the young Adventurer entered through the door.

“Mr. Theo. Fio called me…”

And then the wolf cubs started to jump onto the Adventurer.

“You guys…”

The young Adventurer froze for a moment.

“They are so unbelievably cute.”
“Pii!”
“Au!”
“Auwau!”

And so the Adventurer started to pet them.
Hippolius did not go to him, but walked to my feet instead.

Perhaps Hippolius was a little shy compared to the cubs.

I picked up Hippolius, and then called the young Adventurer.
“Sorry to ask you to come.”
“Ah, it’s nothing!”
He said, but continued to pet the wolf cubs.

“I wanted to hear your opinion on where I should install the sink.”
“Where?”
The Adventurer raised his head.

“Oh! Oh…”

That was when he finally noticed the existence of the sink.
Well, he had been playing with the wolf cubs, so it was no surprise that it escaped his notice.

“That is incredible, Mr. Theo. You are so quick to craft things.”
“The structure was simple. However, it is not actually finished. The difficult part starts now.”
“Still, it is very impressive. Ah, right. So a place to put it.”
“Aye. As I do not live here, I thought I should ask someone who does.”

I said, and then the Adventurer stopped petting the cubs and walked over to the sink.

“I see… By the way, how is this used?”
“Well… It is hard to explain, since it’s not finished yet. But I am going to attach a device here that will release water.”
“Ohh. So we will be able to wash clothes and drink water.”
“Well, yes. While it is fine now, since it is summer, you will also not want to go outside to wash your face when it is cold, right?”
“Indeed! The scholars have said that the winters will be very cold.”
“Exactly. Ije said the same.”
“Since Ms. Ije is a local, it must be true. Winter, huh…”

He said as he looked at the sink.

“The water will come out of this area, and you can wash your hands or face here.”
“Hmmm. In that case… This should be a good spot.”

So saying, the Adventurer pointed to a corner in the communal area.
