Strange Dragon – 120

Chapter 120 – Gisela’s Story 4

Hippolius then started to play with Gisela’s hand.
As if it was comparing their strength.

Upon sensing this, Gisela said,
“Hey, hey, there. I am stronger than you, Hippolius!”
“Kyuooo!”

Hippolius lightly bit Gisela’s right arm.
And then Gisela rolled Hippolius on the ground.

“Hippolius. Gisela’s stomach hurts, so you can play later.”
“Kyuo?”

‘She doesn’t look like she’s in pain?’ Hippolius seemed to say.

“She just looks well. But she actually ate a lot of poison berries.”
“Kyuo…”
“Hmm? But I took the medicine, so my stomach doesn’t hurt anymore. And I have no fever either.”
“…I really don’t understand what is happening with your body. But as a scholar, I am interested.”
“Ehehe.”
“Don’t smile. It was not a compliment.”

And then Kelly turned to Fio and Ije.

“Listen. This Gisela here has undergone special training.”
“Special training?”
“Amazing.”
“And so even if she says something tastes good, you must not eat it if it is not known to you. Otherwise, you will suffer for three days and three nights.”
“Scary.”
“Will be careful.”

Fio and Ije nodded.

“Have you experienced something like that too, Kelly?”
“Too? Did you, Mr. Theo?”
“No, I have the appraisal skill, after all. It was the Sage who took the hit.”

I made sure to always use the appraisal skill before eating something I wasn’t familiar with.
It was a habit I had developed even before joining the Hero’s party.

However, Gisela was like a baby who tested things by putting them in her mouth.
And sometimes, this had bad consequences.
Still, she used to be worse.
We had to tell her that even a dog was more cautious.

But the thing was, that sometimes she would eat poisonous things and be fine.
That was dangerous.
And so she would eat something and recommend it as being delicious, and the others would get sick.
Kelly must have experienced this.

“Three days and three nights. I lost so much weight in a short amount of time.”
“…That sounds terrible.”
“Aye.”

Kelly had a far away look in her eyes.

“I felt bad. And I have not recommended any food to anyone since.”
“That is true. Gisela did look after me while I was sick.”

Gisela and Kelly looked at each other kindly.
So it wasn’t just bad memories for them.

And then Victor turned to Gisela.

“Ms. Gisela. Could you tell us about what happened after you defeated the false demon bear?”

As we had strayed too far from the topic at hand, Victor had to remind us.

“That’s right. I killed it by cutting it in half with my sword… But that was after Boaboa was attacked by it.”

Boaboa had likely fought in order to protect Gisela and the baby.
And it became badly wounded.

“Boaboa had a horn stabbed in her stomach.”
“Yes. And so much blood was coming out, and so I frantically poured a healing potion over the wound and carried her to the cave. But the bleeding would not stop.”
“The poison prevents coagulation. And so a healing potion would not stop the bleeding.”
“But I also used all of my antidote potions…”
“You have to have the right antidote for the right poison.”

There was no guarantee that the antidote you were carrying would work.
And so when I was carrying the luggage for the Hero’s party, I hardly had any antidote potions with me.
Instead, I kept the materials, and made them when the need arose.

“Still, it must be because of the potions, that Boaboa did not die before we arrived.”
“And Boaboa is such a strong monster. That must have helped as well. I was not able to do much at all.”
“Well, Boaboa’s strength definitely had something to do with it. But I still think it would have died without your care, Gisela.”
“I see. I’m glad about that.”

Gisela said with a smile.

“And then you stayed in the cave?”
“Yes, that’s right.”
“You said it happened last night. Around what time? Early in the night? Or midnight or near the end?”
“Boaboa left the cave in the middle of the night. And then I heard the scream. When I defeated the false demon bear, the eastern sky had turned red.”
“I see. So it really was Boaboa who ravaged the fields.”

She had probably come across the field while hunting.

“What do you mean?”
“Ah, about that.”

And so I explained to Gisela about the field.

“Well, Boaboa will not do that anymore if you tell her. So you can plant the seeds.”
“Seed planting. Cannot wait.”
“Indeed. Well, it’s too late now, so we can do it tomorrow morning. Is that alright, Ms. Ije?”
“Yes! That is good!”
Ije answered Victor happily.
So we would be able to continue the work with the fields tomorrow then.
