Chapter 129 – Breakfast
I continued to cook the boar organs and feed them to Boaboa, dragon and Hippolius.
In the meantime, Pii would move around to everyone’s body and eat all of the fleas.
“Pii. Are you sure you don’t want any meat?”
‘Don’t need. Already had blood.’
Pii had drunk all of the boar blood earlier.
“You can have some meat too if you want.”
‘Blood tastes better.’
“I see.”
It seemed like slimes really did have unique taste buds among monsters.
After eating the meat of one boar, and the organs of three, Boaboa and the others were finally full.
“Buuui.”
“…Bu…ii…”
Boaboa thanked me, and then the baby repeated it, though it was half asleep.
As it was young, it needed a lot of time to sleep.
Besides, it had probably not slept much, due to being anxious about Boaboa’s injury.
“Grau.”
“No, thank you as well. You are the one who hunted the boars.”
“Gagarau.”
The dragon was also very satisfied after the meal.
And so I went over to Boaboa.
“Boaboa. How do you feel?”
“Buui.”
Apparently, rather good.
I suppose she had regained a lot of energy after eating.
“I see. But I think you still better take your medicine.”
“…Bui.”
And so I quickly made some antidote potion and placed it on a plate.
“Bui!”
And then Boaboa drank it all at once.
As it tasted very bad, it was best to do it in one gulp.
“Your wounds are mostly sealed now. You really are a tough one.”
“Buo.”
After all, if she wasn’t tough, then she would have died before I arrived.
That was how bad the wounds were.
“I think that I’ll apply some medicine to the wound as well.”
“Bui.”
“Don’t mention it.”
I patted the grateful Boaboa and then quickly applied the medicine.
And then I sat down next to her.
The morning light was warm and comfortable.
Boaboa, dragon, Hippolius and Pii were all sun-bathing now.
While Boaboa usually stayed in a dark cave, it was not like she hated the sun.
“Mr. Theo. Look at this.”
“Hmm?”
Kelly had been inspecting Boaboa’s body.
“What is it?”
“I had speculated that Boaboa was a Chimera after seeing the traces left in the field.”
“Yes, you did.”
“And it looks like I was right.”
Kelly said proudly.
“Did you find proof of it then?”
“Aye, look at this part. It is proof that Boaboa is a Chimera.”
Kelly said as she parted the hair around Boaboa’s ears.
“Buui.”
Perhaps it felt nice, as Boaboa closed her eyes comfortably.
Kelly really was good at dealing with monsters.
In any case, in spite of this declaration, I could not tell what she was talking about.
“…Kelly. What am I looking for?”
“The ears.”
“Hmm?”
“Chimeras have traits from several different monsters.
“I know that…”
On the old continent, they had the head of a lion, the body of a goat, and a tail that was a venomous snake.
Perhaps Boaboa had some of those traits as well.
“Are they lion ears?”
“No. The shape is completely different.”
“…I’m not an expert on lion ears.”
“Oh, that is true. It is not everyone who gets a chance to example a lion’s ears. I’m sorry.”
“No, you don’t need to apologize. Are they like large cat ears?”
“While cats and lions are similar, their ears are different. Lion ears are more round.”
“Huh…”
“Kyuo…”
As I listened with interest, Hippolius also came close and seemed to be listening.
“But nevermind lion ears. Look at Boaboa’s. They are goat ears.”
“Hmm?”
Indeed, Boaboa’s ears did seem a little larger or longer than a boar’s.
Also, boars had triangle-shaped ears, but Boaboa’s were round at the top.
“Mr. Theo, you said that Boaboa’s hair was close to a goat’s, didn’t you?”
“I did.”
“Boaboa’s ears and hair is that of a goat. And its head and body is that of a Shishi.”
“A lion?”
“No, a Shishi. Like a boar.”
“…Uh…huh… So it’s an unknown kind of boar?”
“The definition of a Chimera is a creature that has features from multiple monsters. So it should be categorized as a new Chimera.”
“Is that right?”
“Aye, I am completely right.”
Well, if Monsterologist Kelly said so, it must be true.
Besides, Gisela the Hero had also thought that Boaboa was a Chimera.
If both of those professionals thought so, it was very likely correct.
Thanks for the treat.
