Strange Dragon – 121

Chapter 121 – Return to Boaboa’s Nest

After thinking for a moment, I turned to Victor.

“Victor. I am thinking about spending the night at Boaboa’s place.”
“…Indeed. Even if you treated it, it was badly wounded, yes? That would probably be for the best.”

I had only returned to the base in order to carry Gisela, who was suffering from the poison.
Also, to make a report.

“Gisela seems fine now, and the healer is used to treating people who are poison red berries. So it should be fine if I leave some medicine.”
“Yes.”
“Are you fine with that, Gisela?”
“Yes. Thank you.”

I patted Ije, Fio and Shiro on the head.
“Take care of Gisela.”
“Okay!”
“Leave it to Ije.”
“Wuff.”
“And you too, wolf cubs.”
“Komaro, fine.”
“Yes.”
“Wuff-wuff.”

It was reassuring to have Ije, Fio and Shiro as well.

“Hippolius and Pii will come with me.”
‘Okay.’
“Pii.”

And then I made some extra medicine and put it in Gisela’s magic bag.
While I was working, Kelly approached me.

“Mr. Theo.”
“What is it, Kelly.”
“I will go too.”
“You will?”
“Yes. If Boaboa is badly hurt, then my knowledge may be useful.”
“That’s true… But are you sure? That means you will have to sleep in the cave.”
“And what of it? I do that every other day.”
“I suppose it is not that strange for a monsterologist.”
“Having a roof over your head is a luxury.”

In some ways, monsterologists and Adventurers could be quite similar.

“Alright, then you should come too, Kelly.”
“Mmm. I will go and prepare then!”

So saying, Kelly went running off.
She probably had a lot of tools.

But Kelly returned in less than five minutes, and so we set off.
After leaving Hippolius’s house, Kelly, Pii and I got on top of Hippolius’s back.

“Hmm. It is quite comfortable up here.”

Kelly said as she petted Hippolius.

“Kyuo?”
“Yes, let’s go then.”

And so Hippolius dashed swiftly in the direction of the cave.

“Kyuo-kyuo-kyuo!”
“Hippolius, you don’t need to run that fast.”

As Hippolius was running very fast, I gently petted its neck to help calm it.

‘Hippolius fine! Hippolius strong!’
“I see, I see. Yes, you are strong.”
‘Yes!’

As Hippolius was so excited, we arrived at the cave in no time.

“So this is Boaboa’s nest.”
“Yes. Wait here one moment.”

I said before we entered the cave.

“Boaboa! It’s Theodore! I’m coming inside.”
“…Bubo.”

I asked if I could enter, and there was a reply.

“Kelly and Hippolius, you two wait here. I will go and speak to Boaboa first.”
“Very well. I’ll leave it to you.”
“Kyuo-kyuo.”

And so I entered the cave with just Pii.
I did not forget to turn on my magic lamp.
After walking a little, we turned a corner and entered a wide chamber. It was here that Boaboa was resting.
And the child and dragon were also there.

“Boaboa. How do you feel?”
“Bubo.”

Boaboa was saying that she was fine.
However, people who were injured were not the most reliable.

And so Pii hopped off of my shoulder and touched Boaboa.
And then it started to move the lower half of its body.

“Pii!”
“Bubo.”

Apparently, this was a massage to help speed up the healing of the wound.
Boboa seemed to like it, as she thanked Pii.

“Boaboa. How is the pain?”
“Bobobo.”
“Better then. That’s good to hear.”
“Bo.”
“Ah, you noticed. I brought a friend, Kelly, who knows a lot about monsters. And also a baby dragon called Hippolius.”
“Bubo.”

Boaboa asked me to bring them inside.

“Thank you. Just wait one moment.”

And so I went outside in order to call Kelly and Hippolius.
I then returned with Kelly, and while carrying a shrunken down Hippolius.

“Boaboa. Dragon, and Boaboa’s child.”
“Bubo.”
“Gaah.”
“Bubobo.”
“This is Kelly. She knows a lot about monsters. I brought her here to inspect the wound.”

The dragon and Boaboa’s child began to sniff Kelly.

“I’m Kelly. Nice to meet you.”

Kelly let them smell her as much as they wanted.

“Bubobo.”

On the other hand, Boaboa could not move, but greeted them politely.

“And this is Hippolius. A baby dragon.”
“Kyuo!”

Hoppolius wagged its tail cheerfully.
As Hippolius also wanted to smell Boaboa and the others, I put it down on the ground.

“Kyuo-kyuo.”
“Bubobobo.”
“Gaah.”
“Bobo.”

Hippolius greeted them without being afraid.

“Kelly. Please check on Boaboa.”
“Aye, of course. Boaboa. Allow me to check your wounds.”
“Bubo.”

Boaboa then turned over so that Kelly could see its stomach.

“Thank you… Hmm. The bleeding has stopped.”
“Bubo.”

Boaboa said that it was thanks to the medicine.
