Strange Dragon – 122

Chapter 122 – Boaboa’s Treatment

After that, Kelly took Boaboa’s temperature, checked her eyes and inspected her mouth.

“There may still be some poison remaining.”
“I’ll make an antidote.”
“Thank you.”

And so I took the ingredients to make it out of my magic bag.

“Mr. Theo. Aside from the antidote potion, could you make a potion for wounds that can be drunk?”
“For drinking? Usually you would apply it over the wound…”
“Well, the wounds are internal as well… Something has to be done.”
“Hmm. Yes, I can see how that might have happened.”

Boaboa had been stabbed in the stomach by the false demon bear’s horn.
And the poison was sent into its body.

“Well, if I could make it, I would. But I think that would be difficult.”
“If even you can’t make it, then it cannot be helped.”
“Aye, sorry. You have to be especially careful with things that you put in your mouth.”

If you don’t have enough knowledge about it, something terrible could happen.
Failure could kill you.

“Well, the type that is applied to the wound can be dangerous as well…”

A long time ago, I had trained with an alchemist, and learned a little about medicine.
It was that knowledge that I now used to create potions for wounds and poison.

“In any case, I will make the antidote.”

That being said, it had only been a few hours since I treated Boaboa.
And I had given her an antidote then.

“I will make it a little weaker this time.”
“Bubo.”

‘Will that mean the bitterness and smell will be weaker too?’ Boaboa asked.

“Unfortunately, it’s just the effect that is weakened. The taste and smell will be the same.”
“…Bubo.”

Boboa looked very disappointed by this.
And so I patted Boaboa on the head and started to make the antidote potion.

Once again, I started by appraising the medicinal herbs, and then used the crafting skill to make it all at once.
When it was complete, I appraised it to make sure that I had succeeded.

“Alright, it’s done. Boaboa, while it tastes bad, please drink it.”
“Bobooo.”

Boaboa did her best to swallow all of it.

“Very good.”
“Pii!”

Pii also shook on top of Boaboa as if to praise her.

“While I can’t make a drinkable wound potion…I could make something like stomach medicine.”

I learned how to make stomach medicine a long time ago.
And so quickly made the medicine and had Boaboa drink it.

“Bubobo.”
“You don’t need to thank me. It was my friend, Gisela, who you helped. I’m just repaying a debt.”
“Bubo.”

The antidote and stomach potion must have been effective, as Boaboa then looked sleepy.

“Boaboa. Are you cold?”
Kelly asked as she petted Boaboa.

“Bubobo.”
“She says it’s a little cold.”
“I see. Then you should use this.”

Kelly took out a large cloth from her belongings and laid it over the rocks.

“Boaboa. You should lay on top of this. Even with fur, the rocks will rob you of your warmth.”
“Bubo.”

Boaboa thanked her and then lay on top of the cloth.
And then Kelly took out an even larger blanket and put it over Boaboa.

“That should do it. It will help a lot with the cold.”
“Bubobo.”
“Maintaining your body temperature requires energy. And so when you are injured, it’s best to stay warm and rest.”
“Bobooo.”
“Bubobo.”

Both parent and child made noises towards Kelly.

“Kelly, they are thanking you.”
“There is no need to thank me. I am doing this because I want to.”

So saying, Kelly sat down next to Boaboa and petted her gently.
Boaboa’s child also went into the blanket and they lay there together.

As no sunlight entered the cave, I wasn’t sure about the time. But it was probably close to sundown.

“Boaboa. Tell me if it’s too bright. And I will move away.”

I was currently using a magic tool to illuminate the area.

“Bubo.”

Boboa said that it was fine and not too bright.
This was good, as I was a human, it could be very inconvenient if it was completely dark.
After some time had passed, I could hear that Boaboa was asleep.
I was glad that the medicine seemed to make things easier.

And then Pii, who had been on Boaboa’s back, came out from beneath the blanket.

“Thank you for massaging Boaboa.”
“Pii!”

I said quietly.
Pii jiggled and then went off to the corner of the room.
The remains of Boaboa’s meals were scattered there.
Because of this, the cave smelled quite bad.

“Pii?”
“Grah.”
“Pipii.”

Pii was asking the dragon if it could clean up.
And the dragon told Pii to help itself.

“Pii-pii.”
And so Pii went around and cleaned up the leftover food.
As always, it worked so fast.
