I received the gift from Liza
“Wuff!”
“Is this the same necklace?”
“Ye-yes. It looks like mama, so I thought you would both like it…”
Leo seemed to be happy when she saw what I took out.
It was the same necklace that Liza had bought for herself. And the same one I had bought for Tilura.
While it was not very expensive, it would seem like quite a lot for Liza.
I had once heard that people cry more as they age.
But that aside, anyone would get teary-eyed if the person they saw as a daughter bought them a present with their allowance.
“Pa-papa!? Wha-what is it? Do you hate it that much?”
“N-no. That’s not it. Thank you, Liza.”
As I had covered my face with my hand, Liza misunderstood.
And so I patted her gently on the head.
Alfred and Ms. Lyra smiled as they watched us.
“Wuff-wuff!”
“Haha! That tickles, mama!”
“Leo really likes it too.”
“Wuff-wuff.”
Leo pressed her face against Liza happily.
“It suits you, Mr. Takumi.”
“It does?”
Ms. Lyra helped me put it on.
“Wuff-wuff!”
“Yes, it’s a little small for mama. Sorry. I couldn’t find a bigger one.”
Leo had laid down expectantly, but…it was not the right size for her.
“Papa. Is there any way to…”
“Well, just because it’s a necklace, it doesn’t mean you have to put the chain around her neck…”
I took the necklace from Liza and approached Leo.
“Leo, sit.”
“Wuff? …Wuff.”
“Could you raise your chin? Like this…”
I took some of the long hairs around Leo’s neck and then put them through the loop that connected the chain in the back.
And then I tied the hairs so it wouldn’t come off.
“Leo. Does it hurt?”
“Wuff-wuff.”
As it had some weight, I made sure that it did not pull to the point of being painful for her… She said that it didn’t hurt, and so I adjusted the length, and then it was finished.
“Alright. How is that?”
“Ah, it looks nice on mama!”
“Wuff?”
Liza raised her hands in the air happily. Leo could not see it, and so she looked puzzled.
“Here, good Leo. Take a look.”
“Wuff… Wuff-wuff!”
“Haha. Glad you like it.”
Ms. Lyra brought a mirror so that Leo could look at her reflection.
Once she saw that it was dangling from her neck, she barked happily and wagged her tail.
To be honest, the silver necklace easily blended into her fur, so it was not that eye-catching.
But it was the thought that counts.
“Thank you, Liza. I’ll take good care of it.”
“Wuff-wuff!”
“Yes! Hehe…now we are all matching!”
Yes, yes. We were all matching now…
Thanks for the treat. 🖖
