Strange Dragon – 202

Chapter 202 – Alya’s Lesson and Hippolius

If it was Kelly, then I could safely leave the wolf cubs to her.

“Alright, thank you. But take this with you, just in case.”

I gave her the basket to carry the wolf cubs in.

“Oh, thank you. That will be useful.”

Kelly hung the basket in front of her, and then placed the cubs inside.

“Wuff-wuff!”

They moved around excitedly in the basket.

“Kuro, Roro, Ruru. Be good and listen to what Kelly says.”
“Wou!”

“Yes, good answer. And study well.”
“Wuff!”

And then Alya, Gisela, Fio, Shiro, Kelly and the wolf cubs left the dining hall and headed for the courtyard.

“I am curious to see how Alya will teach.”
“Aye. Alya is also a genius, after all.”

The Adventurers said, as they went running to the courtyard as well.

The people that remained in the dining hall were Ije, Victor and some Adventurers and scholars who had work to do today.

Also, me, Hippolius and Pi.

“Ms. Ije. Could you guide us to the place with the oats?”

“Yes. Leave immediately?”

“Well, we should do it as soon as possible.”
“Okay! Gather in front of Boaboa house in half an hour.”

“Understood.”

At Ije’s command, the Adventurers moved into action.

She gave them half an hour to use the bathroom and get ready.

There was nothing that I needed to do to prepare, and so I headed to Boaboa’s house at once.

When I left the dining hall, I saw that Alya was standing in the courtyard. She held out her staff and was explaining something to Shiro about magic energy.

Not just Shiro, but Fio, Kelly, the wolf cubs, Gisela, and the Adventurers were also listening with serious expressions.

The Adventurers could already use magic strengthening, but it was not as if they accurately understood the properties of magic energy.

I was like that too. Many Adventurers were not very educated.

Most of us had learned it while nearly dying, and just observing what our seniors did. And those who were able to learn, were the Adventurers who survived longer.

In a way, Adventurers, especially those who are warriors, are close to demon beasts.

After all, they too learned how to watch it through watching their parents.

“Mr. Theo.”

Alya stopped her lesson and walked towards me when she saw us come out.

“What is it?”

“Could you tell the dragon to come here?”
“Sure.”
“Thank you.”

Alya bowed her head and then ran back and continued her lesson.

She probably wanted Dragon to help teach Shiro.

It was likely that demon beats had their own way of doing it.

“Alya sure is the theoretical type.”

“Kyuo?”

So in order to support her, she wanted  the help of Dragon, who could put it into action.

“Hippolius. You can go and listen to Alya if you want to.”

‘Hippolius go with Theo.’

“Thank you.”

‘Theodore can teach Hippolius.’

Hippolius said with a wagging tail and shining eyes.

“I see… But you can already do it very well, Hippolius.”

Hippolius could use body strengthening, as well as all kinds of magic and abilities for combat.

If anything, Hippolius would make more sense as a teacher, rather than a student.

‘Hippolius, good?’

“Aye, you are very good.”
“Kyuo!”

Still, I was not surprised that Alya had enlisted Dragon’s help instead of Hippolius.

Hippolius did not look like a good teacher.

Hippolius was closer to Gisela than Alya.

And so Dragon would be more reliable.

“Dragon is a veteran parent.”

He had experience with teaching magic to children.

So Shiro was in good hands.

“Hippolius, have you ever taught anyone how to hunt?”

‘Kyuo? No!’

“I see.”
“Kyuo.”

Had we not done anything, then perhaps Hippolius would have been the one to teach Shiro.

Or at the very least, Shiro would have learned through watching Hippolius.

“By the way, who taught you to hunt and use magic, Hippolius?”
“Kyuo?”

While walking, Hippolius tilted its head.

‘Don’t know. No one taught Hippolius.’

“So you knew it from birth.”

‘Maybe.”

Or perhaps through looking at other beasts.

“Hippolius. Do you have parents?”

‘Hmmm. Don’t know.’

“I see. You don’t remember?”

‘Don’t remember! Kyuo!’

Hippolius was a dragon.

And dragons are usually born from eggs.

So it was possible the parents were gone and just left the egg.

Either that, or they are a type of dragon that doesn’t raise their young.

If that was the case, then they must be able to defend themselves from birth.

I would have to ask Kelly about it later.
