A human sized bagworm was hanging
“Hehe. Good morning, Liza. Or should I say, good evening?”
“Wuff!”
Claire laid Sherry down on her lap and smiled kindly at Liza.
“Huh? If it’s still bright…then…mmph…”
“Oh?”
After looking confused for a moment, Liza seemed to get an idea, as she squeezed into the gap between me and Claire.
“With papa and mama. And sister Claire…”
“Hehe, indeed…”
Liza took both of our arms and leaned against Leo.
While I was a little sad to be parted with Claire, she was so cute that I didn’t mind. And so we sat there peacefully for some time.
“Wou…”
Though, Leo seemed a little unsatisfied.
It was probably because Liza was just leaning against her. Perhaps Leo had wanted to play.
But before we went to bed, I petted and praised her for letting us lean against her, and then she was happy again.
Well, before that happened, Tilura charged into us, waking up Sherry. Also, I was able to train for a short while.
After enjoying this family-like atmosphere, and finishing my training, I was about to enter the tent in order to sleep.
“Are you sure about this?”
“Kyau.”
“Hehe. I think she liked being carried by you, Mr. Takumi.”
“Well, I’ve never slept with Sherry before, so it might be nice.”
Sherry jumped on me just before entering. Apparently, she wanted to sleep with me tonight instead of Claire.
Holding her by the fire had reminded me of when I used to hold a smaller Leo.
“Wou…”
But Leo was unable to enter the tent now. And so she looked at Sherry a little jealously.
“Haha! I’ll be in this one!”
Liza had also enjoyed sleeping in Claire’s arms, and so she quickly dove into Claire’s tent.
It felt like we were trading Liza and Sherry for the day.
And like that, we said good night to the others and went to bed.
Our journey would continue tomorrow, so we had to get some sleep… Well, it was Leo and the horses who had all of the hard work…
—
“Kii! Kii!”
“Pii-pii!”
“Hmm…?”
“…Kyau…?”
I woke to the sounds coming from outside.
At the same time, Sherry also came out of the sleeping bag and barked.
“Kii! Kii!”
“Is that…Rahle?”
“Pii!”
“Kyau…kyuu…”
I could also hear the cockatrices.
“Ah, it’s morning then. Those cockatrices are like roosters now…”
“Kyau?”
“Uh, it’s nothing.”
“Kyuu!”
While I didn’t hear any ‘cock-a-doodle-doos,’ it was still amusing to wake up to their cries.
Now that I think about it, cockatrices did look a little like chickens when they grew up.

“…What’s this…? Ah, Leo. Good morning.”
“Wuff!”
And so I took Sherry out and was met with a surprise. Leo came out to greet me, and so I petted her as an apology for not being able to sleep with her last night.
“You can help me if you want, Takumi.”
“I suppose. But maybe there is a reason for… Well, I’m not sure what to do yet. Also, I’m not convinced that you actually want help.”
“Ah…you are very strict, Takumi.”
Mr. Euto had been tight up with rope and was hanging upside-down like a bagworm in front of one of the tents.
That being said, he was laughing and did not seem like he really wanted to be helped.
Though, I did wonder about treating the founder of this country in such a way…
“Good morning, Mr. Takumi.”
“Good morning. Please do not mind what is happening over there. You must get ready for the morning.”
As I was petting Leo and watching, Ms. Lyra came out and brought me a bucket of hot water.
I accepted it, and then Ms. Lugretta, who was also with her, gave Mr. Euto the coldest look. And so I decided to not pry any further.
