Chapter 100 – A Sink for Hippolius’s House

After I finished installing the sinks in all four houses, it was time to do it in Hippolius’s house.
And so Fio and I walked towards the house, while Hippolius and the wolf cubs scampered after us.
Shiro, who acted as their guardian, took the rear.

“I’m going to install a sink in your house.”
“Kyuo!”

Hippolius squeaked happily.

When we arrived, Fio and I wiped the feet of Hippolius, the wolf cubs, and Shiro, and then we stepped inside the house.

“So, as for the sink… Where would be the best spot…”
“Hmm?”
“Kyuo?”

Fio and Hippolius seemed to be considering it seriously.
Behind them, the wolf cubs played with Shiro.

“I guess I’ll set it near the entrance. Because there are times when I want to wash my feet.”
“Wash feet!”
“Indeed. I should have a second sink that is lower, so that Shiro and the cubs can wash up too.”
“Wuff!”

As Ije and Fio would use it, I made the sink a little lower than the sinks in the Adventurers’ houses.
But aside from that, it was mostly the same.

And then near the entrance, I made a low sink that the cubs could get into by themselves.
As for the pipes, it was the same as with the other houses, and so I completed them in very little time.

“Good, it’s finished!”
“Wuff! Finished!”

Fio then used the sink to wash her hands.

“It’s cold! Ehehe!”

I was glad that she was having fun.

‘Wash.’

And then Hippolius went into the low sink and pulled the lever so that water poured down onto its head.

‘Feels good!’

Hippolius lived in the sea, and liked water.
However, Shiro and the wolf cubs did not want to get wet from cold water.

‘Is it okay?’
“…Hiiin.”
‘…Wou…,’

The cubs looked horrified as they watched Hippolius playing.

“Kyuo!”

Hippolius did not care, and continued to splash around and play.
After some time, Hippolius was satisfied, and came out of the sink.

“Uh, Hippolius. I have to dry you off, so wait a moment.”
“Kyuo?”

Walking around like that would make the floor soaking wet.
As I prepared a towel, Ruru started to lick Hippolius.
Perhaps she thought that Hippolius would catch a cold if left like this.
Among the children, Ruru seemed the most concerned of others.

“Thank you, Ruru.”
“Au.”

And then I started to wipe Hippolius’s body.
‘Kyuo-kyuo’ the small Hippolius squeaked as I picked it up and wiped gently.

“Now, now. It’s almost time for lunch. I suppose I will go and help.”
“Fio! Help.”
“I see. Let’s go then.”
“Yes.”

And so we all headed to the dining hall.

“Ije and Victor have probably returned by now.”
“Ije’s food is good!”
“Indeed. However, right now, they must be busy looking for a spot for the fields.”

In the morning, they had headed out to search for farmland.

“Fio! Make food!”
“I see. That might be nice as well.”

That being said, since Ije was such a good cook, people would be quite disappointed if Fio and I made horrible food.

“Can’t wait for the field!”
“Do you know something about them, Fio?”
“Heard from Ije! Make food!”
“Well, that’s not wrong.”

I didn’t know if there were any crops that would grow in time if we planted them in the summer.
The serious farming attempt would likely not start until spring next year.

We arrived at the dining house while I thought of such things, and I saw that the Adventurers who had the day off were preparing the food.
Victor and Ije had not returned yet.

“Let me help you.”
“Thank you, Mr. Theo. But actually, it would help if you could go and call Victor and the others.”
“But they should know what the time is. Perhaps there is a reason that they cannot come.”

The Adventurers were likely worried, because Victor had recently been ill.

“Hmm. In that case, I will go and see them.”

Perhaps he was busy with some kind of work.
I didn’t think they would have started cultivating the land. But perhaps they were picking weeds and wanted to finish a certain amount before stopping.
If that was the case, then I should help them.

“Fio too!”
“Fio, you should stay here and help with the food.”
“Okay!”
“Shiro, you watch over the wolf cubs.”
“Wuff!”
“Hippolius, you come with me.”
“Kyuo.”

I petted Fio, Shiro and the wolf cubs on the head, and then left the dining hall with Hippolius and Pii.
And then I started walking in the direction that Victor had gone.
