Chapter 138 – Breakfast
While washing my face, I thought,
“I really am glad that I made this.”
And since there was one sink in every house, the others were likely making good use of it as well.
“Kyuo-kyuo!”
While I was washing up, Hippolius ran up to me and hugged my leg.
“What is it, Hippolius?”
‘Hippolius wash too!’
“Alright then.”
I lifted up Hippolius to the sink and turned on the faucet.
Then I scooped up some water and tried to wash Hippolius’s face. However…
“Kyuo-kyuo!”
Hippolius jumped inside of the sink.
And while snorting, it used its hands to rub water into its face.
Or it tried too, but its head went under the faucet, and it ended up becoming completely wet.
“Kyuo-kyuo.”
Still, Hippolious didn’t care, and continued to try to wash its face.
Perhaps it just wanted to copy me.
Well, even if it was wet, its face was still being washed, so it was fine.
“Kyuo!”
Once it was finished, Hippolius turned to me with a smug expression.
“Oh, Hippolius. You’re all clean now. Good for you.”
I turned off the water and petted Hippolius.
And then Pii slid down my arm and onto Hippolius, where it absorbed all of the water. Pii had already dried my face and the area around the sink.
“Thank you, Pii.”
‘Delicious.’
Apparently, it had also been eating dirt at the same time.
While Pii could eat anything, it especially liked things that were from my body.
It made me feel a little strange, but at the same time, my skin felt more smooth afterwards.
As did my hair.
Only good things happened when I was wiped by Pii.
“Well, let’s go to the dining hall then.”
I picked up Hippolius, and with Pii on my shoulder, headed for the dining hall.
Fio, Shiro and Gisela also came while carrying the wolf cubs and Boeboe.
“Shiro, I’ll carry him.”
“Grau.”
I took Kuro from Shiro.
Fio was holding Ruru, while Gisela carried Roro and Boeboe.
The dining hall was very close by.
“Hmm. Still, there will be snow in the winter. And it will be difficult to walk during blizzards.”
“Cold!”
Fio said with a serious expression. She had spent winters with the demon wolves in the past.
Apparently, she had survived by wrapping herself up in boar skins.
“Fio. How much does it snow here?”
“Hmm! This much!”
Fio said while raising her hand higher than her head.
“That much…”
“It packed when I wake up!”
Apparently, it could snow that much in just one night.
“I suppose I really should make a hallway to connect the buildings.”
“So that it’s a single great building?”
“Yes, yes. Though, it would be best if the temperature just stayed like this.”
“Cold!”
“Grau!”
Fio said it twice, so it must be very cold.
Even Shiro seemed to agree.
And so I started to think of a design in order to connect the five houses, infirmary, bathing house, and dining hall.
“Kyuo!”
‘Food! Food!’
I had stopped for a moment, much to Hippolius and Kuro’s annoyance.
“Yes, I can think after we’ve eaten.”
“Kyuo.”
And so I entered the dining hall and left Hippolius and the others on the chairs. And then I went to help Ije.
Gisela and Shiro watched the children, while Fio and I carried plates or took out the trash.
Once the food was ready, we would all eat together.
Kelly, who had been helping in the kitchen as well, now sat next to Boeboe.
“Boeboe. Do you eat this too?”
“Boooee…”
And she fed Boeboe all kinds of things.
She likely wanted to learn as much as she could about these new Chimeras.
Kelly was a very brilliant monsterologist.
She was an old friend of Gisela, and had a doctorate in spite of her young age.
And so she knew how to deal with monsters and beasts.
Boeboe also seemed to be very happy that Kelly was petting it.
“I’ll take some meat over to Boaboa and dragon later as well.”
As they were very big, they could not enter the dining hall.
“Bui?”
After hearing its mother’s name, Boeboe looked at me questioningly.
Milk was dripping down its mouth, which Kelly wiped.
“When I was on my way here, I saw that Boaboa and dragon were already eating breakfast.”
Gisela said. She had stayed at Boaboa’s house last night.
“Really? Demon boars?”
“Yes. Dragon is a really good hunter.”
“Well he can fly very quickly.”
He must be a nightmare for the prey that he hunted.
“They said that they will hunt their own food, so that we should not worry about them.”
“I see.”
“If anything, they said they could help us if we need more food.”
“That’s nice to hear.”
Victor, who had been listening nearby, said.
He was the leader of the expedition. A 74 year old dwarf.
Of course, as a dwarf, he was not that old, and he was still strong.
While there were many great Adventurers on the team, when it came to combat ability, the only one stronger than Victor here was Gisela.
“That being said, we should prepare for the winter, so that we do not have to rely on them.”
Victor had come from a noble family, and always spoke politely.
Though, he turned into a demon in battle.
He had been called Dragon Slayer and Blood Wind in the past. And no one underestimated him.
“That’s right, Victor. Regarding winter preparations. I was thinking of building a corridor.”
“A corridor? That is a good idea.”
Victor agreed with a smile.
Thanks for the treat.
Thanks!
