Strange Dragon – 144

Chapter 144 – Great Rain Magic

I had heard that Alya was skilled with attack magic.

However, there had been no need for her to use it here.

“That really was impressive.

“Yes, it was amazing!”

“Indeed.”

The gathering of water alone was very advanced.

Most magicians would not have been able to do it.

“With you, sailors would never run out of water.”

“You can drink it?”
“Of course. Ah, Kuro, don’t drink it.”

“Au?”

Kuro was looking at me strangely. He had tried to drink water off the ground.

“It’s clean while in the air. But it is mud now.”
“Au.”

Perhaps Victor had brought Alya for this ability as well.

It was possible that we would run out of drinking water on the ship, after all.

And that could lead to the death of the entire crew.

“Well, it was calm at that time.”
“Calm?”
“There was no wind. When we were coming here, there was a point where there was no wind, and so we couldn’t move.”
“Wuff!”

Victor might have wanted Alya to make wind as well.

I could not do that with my skills.

But in the end, Hippolius pushed the boat.

Even as we talked, the rain continued to pour.

“…”

Alya did not talk, but silently focused on controlling the rain.

While I was not a magician, I could see how advanced it was.

Being able to gather all of the moisture.

And then separating them and making them pour little by little so it was like rain.

On top of that, she also had to control the speed.

It was likely at least three different spells used at the same time.

I was starting to think she was just as skilled as the magician who used to travel with me and Gisela.

“Oh, that’s amazing.”

“I was wondering why it was raining. So it is magic.”

Some of the Adventurers noticed what was happening, and came to look in surprise.

Even the veteran Adventurers had never seen anything like this before.

“This is to test the ditches. I asked Alya to do it.”
“Huh. That’s impressive.”

I explained to them, and they watched with awe.

“Oh, I almost forgot something important.”

I needed to check the ditches instead of staring at the magic rain.

There were five ditches in all.

And so I went around to see that they were all working properly.

How much flowed out, and if there weren’t problems in the structure that could make them get stuck.

“Everything looks fine… No, perhaps they could get clogged.”

Dirt or sand was fine.

But if large stones or branches flowed through, it might be a problem.

The structure was fine, but the thickness was a different matter.

“…I suppose I could take the lids off when it rains a lot.”

Also, they will have to be cleaned regularly.

“Well…it should be fine for now.”

Alya had made it rain a lot.

This was practically like a storm.

And yet the courtyard had not flooded.

So everything was working well.

“Amazing.”
“Kyuo-kyuo!”
“Oh? Gisela and Hippolius. Did you finish working in the fields?”

While I was checking the ditches, Gisela suddenly appeared.

A small Hippolius was also running around my legs.

And so I picked Hippolius up.

“Hmm? I came running because I sensed some great magic.”

“Kyuo?”
“I see. Sorry for making you worry.”

Apparently, Gisela and Hoppolius had thought it was an enemy attack.

“Not at all. It’s nothing.”
“Kyuo-kyuo!”
“Still, it is powerful magic. Such a magician is rare.”

“So even you think so, Gisela?”
“Yes. So, what are you doing, Theo?”
“Checking the ditches. That was why I asked Alya to make it rain.”
“Ahh.”
“Kyuo!”

Gisela and Hippolius turned to Alya with a look of respect.
