Strange Dragon – 152

Chapter 152 – Return to Work

Victor had a grandchild.

All of his children had been raised well, and there was no worry of them being led astray if Victor died.

That was why he was able to participate in a dangerous expedition to a new continent.

“The scholars have families as well.”
“Ah, that’s right.”

Kelly and the Climatologist had parents.

And the Geologist had a child, who was already an adult.

“It’s unusual for parents to allow it when you’re still so young.”

One of the Adventurers muttered.

In general, those with parents were already adults, and those with children, had children that were adults.

Being an Adventurer was a dangerous occupation.

And so children with parents would rarely become one.

There were too many risks, and so the parents would be against it.

And so Gisela said,

“I’m surprised he permitted it.”
“He did, because I said that I wanted to test my own strength.”
“You really are the child of the Demon King.”

Gisela said as she gently patted Alya on the head.

Many demons liked to compare their strength.

But even then, many would not go to a new continent, when they did not even know if there would be powerful enemies there.

So there was no doubt that Alya was a strange demon.

As we talked about such things,

“Gaah?”

Dragon, flew towards us from Boaboa’s house.

Dragon landed just outside of the base and then looked towards us with its head tilted.

Apparently, he was worried that Gisela, Ije, Hippolius, Victor and the Adventurers had not returned after their break.

“Oh, dragon. Good morning.”
“Grau. Grau.”

I walked over to where dragon was.

Dragon then lowered his head towards me.

I petted his neck.

“Grau.”

Dragon seemed to enjoy this, as he licked my face.

“Dagon. Are you hungry?”
“Grau.”

Apparently, he was catching his own food, so he was fine.

“I see. And is Boaboa’s house comfortable?”
“Grau-gau.”
“I see, I see. I’m glad that it was to your liking.”
“Grau?”

But dragon seemed worried.

Everyone had said that they would return soon, but had not. Also, he sensed powerful magic.

So it was no wonder he was anxious.

“Ah. It was because Alya was helping with her magic. We weren’t attacked by enemies or anything like that.”
“Sorry for being late! Alya’s magic was so amazing, so we all wanted to watch.”
“Grau-gau.”

Gisela explained as well as she patted dragon on the head.

While she did not have the taming skill, she could somehow understand what the monsters were saying.

Heroes really were in a class of their own.

“We finished eating the snacks, so we will go back now.”
“Grau.”

After hearing Gisela say this, the Adventurers started to help clean up.

There was still some time left before lunch.

They would likely return in order to work some more.

Boaboa and Kelly were waiting in the field near Boaboa’s house.

And so after cleaning up, everyone moved towards the field.

“Kyuo!”

“See you later!”
“Kyuo-kyuo!”

Hippolius became large again and walked off in order to help.

“Later then!”

“Let’s do our best.”
“Bui-bui!”

Gisela, Ije, and Boaboa left as well.

“Grau-grau?”

Dragon asked if there was anything that he could do to help.

“Thank you. But we’re fine.”
“Grau?”
“Ah, that’s right. I’m making a hallway to connect the buildings in the base.”
“Ga?”

“Yes, yes. This is a floor made of stone. I just need to make the walls and roof, and then it will be complete.”
“Grau.”

“It might be difficult to finish it by midday, but I still plan to finish it today, so you should come and take a look later.”
“Gagrau!”

Dragon licked my face again and then flew away.

“Well, I better get back to work then.”

Thanks to Alya, I was able to test the drains.

I just needed to finish the walls and roof.

I had plenty of materials and the structure was simple.

It would be quite easy.

And so I sat down on the stone floor in order to create a solid image of what I wanted.

‘Let’s play.’

“Au.”
‘Carry.’

“We can play later.”

The wolf cubs approached in order to play, but Fio and Shiro picked them up and carried them away.

As I had completed the image in my head, I stood up.

And then I took the materials out of my magic bag, and started to stack them up in the hallway.

“First, appraisal…”

I activated the Appraisal skill on the pile of wood materials.

The information flowed into me all at once, but I processed it and understood the characteristics of the materials.

And then I activated my Crafting skill.
