Chapter 185 – Kelly and Dragon’s Morning
I approached Kelly quietly so as to not wake up the others.
“Kushiii…”
Gisella had a strange-sounding snore.
‘Won’t wake up.’
“Gisella?”
‘Yes.”
Even though Pii and I approached, Gisella showed no signs of waking up.
Pii found this rather surprising.
It wasn’t because she was dull.
Gisella had incredible detection ability.
If the false demon bear approached the base, she would probably notice even if it was five hundred meters away.
And she was asleep.
However, she did not wake up when we moved closer.
“Her instincts can probably tell that there is no danger.”
‘Amazing.’
“Yes. It is amazing.”
If it was close, then I could do it as well.
When Fio and Shiro first came to the base, I had woken up. But I would stay asleep in the house even when the wolf cubs were being noisy.
Perhaps it was because I recognized the nearby presence. And was able to determine it without thinking.
I felt my senses were sharper than even most Adventurers.
However, it was nowhere as sharp as Gisella’s.
“Gisella is a genius that is loved by god, after all. Hey…Kelly.”
While talking to Pii, I moved Boaboa’s tail and patted Kelly on the shoulder.
“Fuga?”
I then made her sit up.
Drool was running down her mouth.
“Don’t sleep in such a spot. It’s dangerous.”
“…Mr. Theo.”
“What? This is not like you.”
Kelly was a first-rate monsterologist, and so she should know how to deal with monsters and beasts.
Normally, she would not ignore the danger and sleep under Boaboa’s tail.
Even if it was warm and comfortable.
“Drink…I was over drinking.”
“I see. You should be careful.”
“…Aye.”
Last night, she had been drinking happily with Gisella and the others.
“Last night… I see…I see…”
Kelly picked up the notebook that she had been sleeping on top of.
It was filled with small writing.
Kelly took notes for research.
Perhaps she had fallen asleep while writing.
“Were you taking notes on Boaboa’s tail?”
“No, the hole.”
“I see…”
I suppose that was important for her, academically.
And then Kelly stood up and walked over to the land sharks.
She began to inspect them with a serious expression.
She did not even wipe the drool from her face.
“Kelly. When I praised Bemubemu, he waved his arms like this….”
“Oh? Perhaps that is how they express themselves. I should look into it later. Thank you for telling me.”

I did not want to bother Kelly while she worked.
Besides, it was still early.
And so Pii and I left the house quietly so as not to disturb the others.
Dragon came with us.
“Do you always get up at this hour, dragon?”

Apparently, he got up early in order to hunt for breakfast.
“So you are going hunting now. Is there anything I can do to help?”
“Guuurrr!”
Dragon said that he was fine.
One demon boar was nothing for him.
“I see. But let me know if you need anything later.”
“Guurr.”
“By the way, in your opinion, are there a lot of animals and beasts in this region?”
“Gurrr… Gurrr.”
“I see. So there are more than on the old continent.”
“Guurrr.”
That was not a bad thing.
If there were a lot of animals, then there must also be a lot of plantlife to support them.
The possibility of us starving to death was now even lower.
“Gurrr…”
“Aye, be careful then.”
We watched as dragon left to hunt, and then we returned to the base.
“It’s getting warmer.”
‘Going to get hot!’’
“Indeed. Looks like we’ll have nice weather today.”
It was only cold right after dawn.
So it would be some time before it was comfortably cool during the day as well.
That being said, it did not mean we should not hurry with preparations towards the autumn.
‘Warm and comfortable.’
Pii sat on my head in order to sunbathe, so that he felt like a hood.
By stretching out, he was able to receive more sunlight.
“Do slimes like the sun?”
I had the impression that they preferred dark and humid places.
At least, they had been like that on the old continent.
‘Like darkness too. Warmth as well.’
“I see… By the way, how are the other slimes?”
‘Well! Everyone happy!’
“I’m glad to hear that.”
Pii was the slime king, and his subjects helped with the laundry, as well as purifying water.
I met the laundry and bathwater slimes every day, but had not seen the sewage slimes in some time.
They were in a place that was cool and dark all day.
Perhaps they would want to enjoy the sunlight as well.
‘It’s fine!’
“Really? Still, I think that I’ll check up on them.”
And so I decided to check the sewage tank before returning to the base.
