Day 98: We caught up!?
Holy Era 6102, Month of the Seven Night Horses, 20th day.
Weather: Sunny
As we continued to ride the kelpy from early morning, a familiar wagon appeared up ahead.
While there was still some distance between us, there was no mistaking the large black dog pulling it.
As we got closer, it was Mr. Bran the Cait Sith after all!
I didn’t think we would actually catch up to him!
When we greeted him from atop the kelpy, Mr. Bran was astonished.
And since it was just about lunch time, we decided to eat together.
There was a large tree up ahead that was close to the road, and so we settled down under its shade for a friendly meal together.
Our lunch today was pancakes, fruits and soup.
Mr. Bran’s eyes widened at how luxurious the food was.
As we had plenty, we shared some of it with him, which made him very happy.
And then Mr. Bran’s dog, who sat beside him, mentioned that he would like to eat as well.
Huh!? It talked!? A dog!? What! Why!?
I was so shocked that I dropped the pancake that I was holding.
The talking dog picked it up and chewed on it hungrily.
Huh? Huh!? As I looked confused, Ms. Bran chuckled and admonished the dog.
However, the dog just snorted and looked away with annoyance.
Mr. Bran sighed with exasperation and then offered an explanation.
Apparently, this dog was a Cu Sith! And his name was Mr. Mavro.
Cu Sith were said to be fairy hounds who lived their lives protecting the fairies.
However, because the fairies avoided showing themselves to humans, the Cu Sith also rarely revealed themselves.
No one would think such a creature would be out in the open and pulling a wagon…
As I looked at Mr. Mavro in shock, Mr. Bran explained that it was because Mr. Mavro was eccentric.
When I looked, Mr. Mavro was lying on the grass and yawning as if bored.
We talked like that for some time, and then Mr. Bran asked us about the kelpy.
After explaining the situation to him, he looked very impressed and said that we must be very brilliant Adventurers.
And then he asked if we would do him the honor of accompanying him.
Apparently, there were bandits in this area recently, and he wanted an escort.
Hmm. Since he was offering a reward, we might as well accept it.
He was very happy when we agreed. Well, it will surely be fine.
After that, we departed again until evening. Tonight, we will camp by the road close to the forest.
While making preparations, I saw that Ms. Nico and Mr. Mavro had gone into the forest.
Since Ms. Nico was gone, I had to pitch the tent alone. But then the kelpy came to help me!!

Ms. Noa and Mr. Bran then started to cook dinner.
I heard that Mr. Bran is a good cook, so I’m looking forward to it!
By the time dinner was ready, the other two returned from the forest.
Hey, Mr. Mavro!! That bird you have in your mouth! It’s a sheam!
An expensive ingredient that is very rare?! As I looked in shock, Mr. Mavro said that it was his way of thanking us for lunch.
Th-thank you… Perhaps he was actually just nice in spite of being quiet…
Yes, it seemed like we were going to get along just nicely.
And from tomorrow, we will do our best to guard you two!!
