Strange Dragon – 119

Chatper 119 – Gisela’s Story 3

Upon hearing that, Kelly looked puzzled.

“Gisela. You’re saying that this Boaboa is a Chimera?”
“That’s right.”
“And yet you didn’t fight?”
“No. Boaboa is very gentle and likes being around people.”
“Hmm. Are Chimeras just more friendly here? Similar to slimes?”

On the old continent, slimes were incredibly hostile and viscous. It was impossible to turn them into familiars.
However, Pii and the other slimes were very cute and got along well with humans.
And so even if they were the same species, their nature could vary greatly depending on which continent they were on.

“And since Boaboa and the baby were hungry, we ate the meat together.”
“The boar meat?”
“That’s right. Is there a problem, Mr. Theo?”
“No, nevermind.”

Anyone else would have seen it as cannibalism.

“Anyway, after seeing that I was in pain, Boaboa invited me to that cave.”
“What a hospitable boar…no, demon beast.”

There was no point in debating whether it was a boar or Chimera right now.

“It was that cave where you found us, Mr. Theo.”
“Well, it would keep you out of the wind and rain.”
“Yes. That’s right.”
“And that was how many days ago?”
“Three…I think?”
“So you were in pain for three days…that must have been rough.”
“It was.”

But there were still other questions.

“So, how did Boaboa get injured?”

Gisela had said that it fought some kind of mutated demon bear.
And that Gisela ultimately defeated it.

“The dragon and Boaboa would bring me food.”
“Hmm.”
“But last night, when Boaboa went out to hunt, I heard a scream.”
“It was Boaboa?”
“Yes. Boaboa. Thinking that something terrible happened, I ran towards Boaboad and that she was badly injured after fighting a strong enemy.”
“What was this enemy like? Tell me about it in detail.”

I had cast Appraisal on the horn, and knew that it was similar to the false demon bear.

“Ah, by the way, here is its horn.”

So saying, I placed the broken horn in front of Victor, Kelly and the others.

“Apparently, there was poison inside of it. So be careful.”
“Understood.”
“I’ll be careful.”
“Yes. Gisela, please continue.”
“Uhh…”

Gisela thought back as she spoke.
It was humanoid and about three meters tall. And its entire body was covered in something like dark brown fog.

It did sound similar to the false demon bear I had fought along with Hippoloius.
However, that one had been around 3.5 meters.
So the one that fought Gisela was smaller.

That being said, it did not mean that it was weak.
After all, it had horns and poison. That would make it quite dangerous.

“As it was all brown, it did look like a bear.”
“No bear looks like that. I don’t think it is even a living creature.”

Gisela said with a serious expression.

“The Appraisal skill worked while it was still alive, so it definitely is not a living creature.”
“Indeed.”
“Hippolius, Fio, Shiro and I also fought something similar.”
“Was it strong?”
“It was. As for its appearance, it looked kind of like a person without skin.”
“Yes, you may be right. But there was something about it that was different from any living creature. Like it was undead or a demon.”

After that, Gisela continued with a curious expression.

“So, how did you defeat it, Mr. Theo?”

And so I have a simple explanation of how we did it.
How much of it had been because of Hippolius, and how Fio and Shiro were very brave.

“So Hippolius is that strong. Even stronger than most dragons.”
“Kyuo.”
“And Fio as well.”
“Ehehe.”
“Shiro…is still sleeping.”

Shiro was sleeping comfortably with the wolf cubs.
They needed a lot of sleep.

“Still, Shiro, Kuro, Roro and Ruru are very cute.”
“Aye, they really are.”
“So cute!”

Fio was proud of them.
And then Victor opened his mouth to return to the subject at hand.

“Um, Ms. Gisela. This monster. Theo and Hippolius had to work together in order to defeat it. How did you manage?”
“I just cut it with my sword, that is all.”

Heroes were so strong, it was practically unfair.
Their existence was like a cheat.

“Gisela. What happened to your sword?”
“Yes. It broke when I cut it.”
“Well, you were lucky then.”

Had it broken before the final attack, then she would have had a more difficult time.

“Still, the broken blade is inside of my magic bag. Mr. Theo. Please fix it later.”
“You can leave that to me.”

Repairing broken weapons and armor had been one of my main duties while in the Hero’s party.
Gisela then rummaged through her magic bag and took out the broken sword.

“Yes. It snapped cleanly. I should be able to fix it quickly.”
“I knew you would, Mr. Theo. I bought it just before leaving, and have become quite fond of it.”

Gisela said with a smile.

“But what about your Holy Sword?”
“I returned it to the country, along with my titles.”
“I suppose they would want it back. While only a Hero can wield it, it is still owned by the country, no, the royal family.”
“Don’t worry. I am strong without it!”

Gisela said cheerfully.
