Strange Dragon – 150

Chapter 150 – Gisela and Alya

Fio and Shiro had been watching intently, and so they were overjoyed at seeing Alya’s magic.

“Teacher Alya is amazing!”
“Wuff! Wuff!”

Fio was very excited as she hugged Alya.

Shiro was also wagging her tail and running around Alya.

Ije was also wagging her tail as she walked forward.

“Wow. Incredible.”

“Yes.”

“Can make it rain with magic, when no rain.”

“Indeed. It will help with farming.”
“Just tell me when you need it.”
“Thank you. Will ask when time comes!”

Alya looked happy to have others rely on her.

As everyone surrounded Alya excitedly, Gisela slowly walked towards her.

“Could it be…that you’re Arystela?”

“…”

Alya suddenly froze.

The Adventurers were also curious, and they looked back and forth at the two.

“When I saw your magic, I had the feeling that I knew it… You are Arystela, aren’t you?”

“How did you know?”

Apparently, Alya really was someone that Gisela was acquainted with.

“Because your hood came off and I saw your face.”
“But I was only seven when we last met.”
“You really have grown so much.”

Gisela said as she patted Alya on the head over her hood.

“Still, you shouldn’t have remembered me when we only met once.”
“Hmmm. It’s true. I wouldn’t have recognized you if it was only your face.”

“What else…? My staff?”
“No, the magic energy was similar.”

“But I didn’t use magic in front of you at that time.”
“I can tell, even if you don’t use magic. Besides, the magic flow was similar to your father.”
“…I see.”

Alya seemed a little happy when she heard this.

“You have become a very impressive magician.”

“Heheh.”

Alya looked bashful.

The Adventurers all laughed warmly.

“So she was a friend of Gisela.”
“You should have said so sooner.”

I understood why the Adventurers felt that way.

However, for Alya, it was just one encounter as a child.

Gisela was incredibly famous. Someone who every young Adventurer looked up to.

Even if Alya remembered, it would be no surprise if Gisela did not.

So it would have been awkward for Alya to say anything about it.

Especially if meeting Gisela was an important memory for Alya.

“So that is why you said that you felt something familiar when you saw Alya’s magic?”
“Yes. But Mr. Theo. You didn’t sense anything strange at all?”
“Not even a little. But…what do you mean by ‘strange’?”

I did not understand.

Was it about the type of magic?

“I’m not a magician…”
“No, that’s not what I mean. You met her too.”
“…When Alya was seven?”

“Yes.”
“No, I don’t think that I did…”
“Arystela. Alya, now. You remember meeting Mr. Theo, don’t you?”
“Yes.”

Alya said as she looked at me from under her hood.

Apparently, I had met her as well.

But I had no memory of it.

“Sorry. When was that?”
“Ten years ago.”
“Where?”
“In the castle of the Demon King.”
“…”

I tried my best to remember ten years ago.

A child I met at the castle.

“Ah.”
“You remember?”

“I do. That child… You’ve grown so much.”

It was unusual to meet a child there.

And so I was able to recall it.

Ultimately, the battle ended with Gisela fighting the Demon King one on one.

Because we realized that the demons just wanted to compare their strength.

Once the Demon King was defeated, the others stopped attacking.

It had been a fair fight, and so instead of hating Gisela, the demons showed their respect.

I remember feeling quite impressed.

Had they been humans, they would have continued to attack after the duel.

But the mentality was completely different.

“I think I met Alya after the duel, and there was a celebration feast.”
“There was?”

“It was quite fun.”
“Yes. A lot of food was brought out into the grand hall, and there was so much wine…”

After the battle, there was a full week of festivities.

Though, we were cautious of a betrayal, and did not drink and were careful to check for poison.

Only Gisela lowered her guard completely.

Well, she was too young to drink, but she ate a lot without caution.

I remembered how nervous we had all been because of that.

Though, as if to show us how foolish we were being, the demon ate and drank and enjoyed themselves.

Perhaps in terms of personality, Gisela was a lot closer to a demon.
