Chapter 171 – Sword Repair
After seeing that the land shark looked sad, Ije said,
“Come.”
Ije stretched out her arms, and so I passed the shark to her.
And then I introduced the others to the land shark.
“This is Kelly, Ije, and Fio. They are all friends.”
“Bemu? Bemu!”
“Are you friend of father?”
“Bemu?”
“Don’t know what it saying…but I think it is.”
“It says it was friends with someone who look like Ije!”
As a genius Tamer, Fio was able to understand it.
In the meantime, the land shark looked happy to be held by Ije.
“Bemu-bemu!”
The land shark was talking happily.
Fio then interpreted and Ije answered.
Apparently, the land sharks were on very friendly terms with Ije’s tribe.
And so they were sharing their sugar beets with them.
In return, Ije’s tribe would also give the sharks gifts.
Generally, this was other kinds of foods, clothing and tools.
This was all very interesting.
However, there was something that I had to do.
“Kelly. Please continue to take care of the wolf cubs.”
“I don’t mind. But…”
“Ije, Fio. You take care of the shark.”
“Okay.”
“Wuff! Leave it to me.”
And then I took out a clump of metal from my magic bag.
Next, I took out the broken sword that Gisela had given to me.
Kelly looked at the sword and asked,
“Mr. Theo. What is that?”
“Gisela’s broken sword. I forgot that I promised to repair it.”
“I see. Because you are going to ask her to fight.”
“Though, Gisela could probably win even just a metal stick.”
But to be polite, I had to prepare a weapon at the very least.
“And so this will take a little concentration. Hippolius. Try not to shake too much.”
“Kyuo!”
And then I used the appraisal skill on the sword.
Like this, I became aware of the details of the blade.
It was very good. Eighty percent Orichalcum, and twenty percent Mithiril.
With hints of other metals and carbon as well.
Clearly, the craftsman was a master.
This sword could probably buy you a house outside of the royal capital.
“That makes it worth repairing.”
“Is that so?”
“Ah, sorry, Kelly. You don’t have to answer me even when I’m muttering. It’s just to myself.”
“I see. I understand that. I often mutter to myself while I am doing research.”
Kelly said with a nod.
I was glad that she understood.
I then cast the appraisal skill on the metal ingots.
As I had refined the materials before, they were very pure.
The only reason that I appraised them again, was because I now knew the characteristics of the sword, so reminding myself of the details of the materials made it easier to create a repair plan in my head.
“The repair materials should be close to the original…so Orichalcum and Mithiril…”
When I had gone to dig for metal with Hippolius, we had found Orichalcum and Mithiril.
And so I had made ingots for future use.
Once I was finished with the appraising, I just had to use the crafting skill to repair it.
I had to carefully adjust the combination and structure.
While it was very difficult, I had done it countless times already.
So I was used to it.
When I was in the same party as Gisela, I had to repair things during battle.
As the enemy attacked viciously, I had to repair rapidly.
So even while swaying on Hippolius’s back, I was able to do it without problem.
“There. It’s finished.”
“Oh? That was fast.”
Kelly was surprised.
“No. I took my time to do it carefully.”
“Is that so? It did not look like you did…”
“Well, I often do this during combat.”
I tried swinging the repaired sword.
It was the right weight balance that Gisela liked.
Well, unless her preference had changed in the past ten years.
If it had, then I would just have to adjust it again.
“And then…”
I used the appraisal skill on the finished sword, just in case.
While I doubted I had failed, you could never be too sure.
If there was a crack that I could not see, then I would be able to tell with the appraisal skill.
“Good… Yes. It’s a great sword.”
The result was that it was perfect.
Obviously, it was because of the person who originally made it.
And so I put the sword back into my magic bag.
“Mr. Theo. Aren’t you going to make a sheath?”
“Gisela should already have one.”
Gisela did not like to throw things away.
Even if her sword broke, she would likely keep the sheath.
If the sheath had been broken too, then she would have given it to me to repair as well.
So for now, repairing the sword alone should be enough.
Thanks for the treat.
Thanks for the chapter!
