Chapter 172 – Reunite
I had been using the appraisal and crafting skills on top of Hippolius’s swaying back.
“Phew. Even though it’s work that I’m used to, it is tiring to use those skills in this environment.”
“Pii-pii.”
Pii was massaging my head and shoulders.
“That feels good. Thank you, Pii.”
“Pii.”
My shoulder and neck pain started to feel better.
Not only that, but it helped with the circulation of magic energy.
My mind felt refreshed, and I could send the energy welling up within me.
As Pii massaged me, Hippolius said,
‘Kyuo! I can see it!’
Apparently, we had made it back to the base safely.
I patted Hippolius on the back.
“Thank you, Hippolius. Please go to Boaboa’s house now.”
“Kyuo!”
“Thank you.”
Gisela had been at Boaboa’s house when we left.
And as we approached the house now, the door opened and Gisela stuck her head out.
“Welcome back!”
“Bubui.”
“Bui!”
“Graugh!”
Boaboa, Boeboe, and dragon also looked out.
Surprisingly, Alya was with them as well.
Perhaps she had wanted to talk with Gisela, who she looked up to.
“Bemu!”
Upon seeing these new people, the land shark looked quite happy while being carried by Ije.
It was moving its short limbs.
While it had been afraid of Shiro, it was not the same with Boaboa or dragon.
Perhaps the land shark just did not like creatures that looked fast.
I would tell Kelly my theory later.
Hippolius then stopped in front of Boaboa’s house.
I got down from Hippolius’s back, and the others did the same.
And then Shiro walked up to my feet and wagged her tail.
“Gisela, I’ll explain in a moment. But I have to give them water first.”
“Yes, I’ll wait.”
“Hah-hah-hah…”
After running behind us, Shiro was now panting loudly.
And so I took out bowls from my magic bag, and filled them with water. And I place them in front of Hippolius and Shiro.
“You two must be thirsty. Here, drink as much as you want.”
Hippolius shrunk down and drank the water.
I suppose by becoming smaller, it wanted to quench its thirst with less water.
Physically speaking, it should be impossible.
Well, normally it was not possible to change your size like that.
Regardless, perhaps this method worked for Hippolius.
Shiro was also drinking eagerly.
I then petted Hippolius and Shiro.
Gisela and Alya petted them as well.
“Good work. Though, I will have to rely on you again, Hippolius…”
“Kyuo!”
After drinking the water, Hippolius answered as if to say, ‘leave it to me!’
“The three of you, returned to the base with the wolf cubs.”
In other words, we were going to fight with the devil.
It was very strong.
And so it was too dangerous to take Kelly and the others with us.
“Shiro, please look after them.”
“Wuff.”
Shiro barked confidently.
But Kelly looked unsatisfied.
“I want to look at the sugar beets. I think it is important for the future.”
“Ije too.”
“I understand how you feel, but it’s too dangerous. We can go again tomorrow. Also, I need you to make a report to Victor.”
“Very well.”
“Yes. Tomorrow.”
“Okay.”
“Wuff.”
Kelly, Ije and Fio agreed to stay.
“How are the cubs doing…”
“Myu…”
I looked into the basket that Kelly held in front of her.
The cubs were still sleeping comfortably.
Perhaps Hippolius’s swaying had rocked them to sleep.
After seeing that things had been settled, Gisela turned to the land shark that Ije was holding.
“A new friend? What’s its name?”
“It doesn’t have a name. We just rescued it.”
“Hmm. Hmmm. I am Gisela. This is Boaboa, Boeboe, and dragon.”
“Bemu.”
“So, Gisela. There’s something I want to ask you to do.”
“Oh, of course! Say anything.”
“A devil came out. So I need you to defeat it.”
“Understood!”
Gisela answered happily as she picked up a nearby hoe.
Boaboa’s house was next to the fields.
And so the farming tools were close to the house as well.
It reminded me that I had to make a shed for the tools later.
And then Kelly said with an exasperated voice,
“Surely you don’t mean to fight with a hoe?”
“Yes. I do…”
“Don’t worry, Gisela. I repaired your sword.”
“Well done, Mr. Theo!”
And so I took out the sword from my magic bag and handed it to Gisela.
Thanks for the treat.
Yay! Sword!
