Chapter 186 – The Slimes
As I walked towards the sewage tank with Pii, I heard the sounds of chirping slimes.
“They seem to be doing well.”
‘Well!’
The slimes had hopped out of the tank and were now playing.
Upon noticing me and Pii, the slimes rushed towards us.
“Pi-pi-pii!
“Pi-pii!”
“PIII!”
As they jumped around energetically, I noticed that there seemed to be more of them compared to before.
“Thank you for your help, slimes.”
‘Pii!’
“Piii!”
The slimes seemed very happy to have been praised by their king.
“Is there anything that you need?”
“Pii?”
Apparently, there was nothing.
Pii then jumped off of my head and landed on the ground.
And then the other slimes crowded around him.
Like this, they turned into a giant mountain of slimes.
“Pii, are you alright?”
‘Alright.’
“Pii-pii.”
“Pii!”
Apparently, they were all enjoying this.
Perhaps it was a game that slimes played.
In any case, I should leave them alone for now.
And so I looked into the tank.
There was a little bit of water at the bottom, and it was crystal clear.
“There is no smell at all.”
‘Purified!’
Pii said proudly from the bottom of the slime pile.
He was interpreting for the other slimes.
As I had the taming skill, I could understand their words.
However, it could be difficult, since they would all talk at the same time.
“Thank you for your work. The purifying abilities of slimes is amazing.”
Just in case, I used the appraisal skill on the tank.
“You could drink this water safely. And the tank is cleaner than the plates we use to eat.”
‘Good?’
“Very good.”
“Piiiii!”
The slime mountain shouted in unison.
“Do you always sunbathe like this?”
‘Do.’
“What about the lid for the tank?”
‘Take off when go out! Put back on later.’
“I see. Impressive.”
The subject slimes were so smart that they could open and close the lid for the sewage tank.
‘Also control how much is stored!’
“They can adjust the amount that is released?”
‘Yes!’
“…That really is amazing.”
‘Amazing!’
“Pii-pii!”
I knew that Pii was very intelligent, but the others were quite smart as well.
They came outside in the early morning, because they had already finished purifying the water during the night.
“I suppose I should check the other tank as well.”
There was another sewage tank that connected to the bathrooms.
“The lid is closed.”
‘Sometimes fills in the night.’
“Ah, that’s true.”
“Pii-pi-pi!”
“Pii-pi!”
“Pi!”
The slimes chirped happily inside of the tank.
There was only a little bit of clear water at the bottom.
I used the appraisal skill here as well.
“This one is also clean enough to drink, and the tank is cleaner than our silverware.”
‘Good?’
“Very good. Thank you.”
“Piii-piii!”
“Is there anything that you need?”
‘They said no!’
However, I felt bad that they were not playing outside like the others.
“Don’t you want to play? If you do, I might be able to do something…”
‘Played yesterday.’
“Huh?”
‘Trade one day.’
“The two tanks switch?”
‘Yes.’
“I see. That’s good to hear.”
‘Good.’
And so I turned back to the slimes.
“It will be winter soon. Is there anything to do in preparation?”
“Piii!”
They cried in unison.
“Do you have any ideas, Pii?”
‘Winter!’
“The water will freeze, and snow might pile up on the lids.”
‘Everyone strong to the cold.’
“Is that so?”
‘Yes.’
And then Pii cried loudly.
Then the slimes around him scattered once, before making a new pile next to him.
“Pii!”
And then they jiggled.
‘Touch.’
“Hmm? The slimes?”
‘Yes.’
And so I walked over to the slimes and touched them.
“That’s hot!”
The slimes were very hot now.
I nearly burned my hand.
‘Can melt.’
“Piii!”
The slimes looked very proud.
My guess is these slimes can melt snow.
