Strange Dragon – 158

Chapter 158 – Departing for Ije’s Village

After we finished eating lunch, I was going to help clean up, but the Adventurers stopped me.

“We will rest after this anyway, so you can leave it to us.”

“Aye. You should prepare for the trip, Mr. Theo.”
“Thank you.”

Though, we did not need much time to prepare.

I just needed to bring some rope to help carry the wolf cubs.

As for the rest, I had my magic bag, so it was fine.

“Kyuo.”

As I was getting ready, the small Hippolius rubbed against my leg.

“What is it?”

‘Carry.’

“Okay.”

I picked up Hippolius.

“Kyuo.”

Hippolius licked my face.

In the morning, Hippolius had been away from me, in order to help Ije in the fields.

So it might have missed me.

“There, there.”

“Kyuo…”

And so I petted Hippolius for some time.

After that, I remembered that I had not checked the door in the hallway that was for Hippolius.

“I know. Could you become big once?”
“Kyuo?”

“I made a door so that you can enter the house while still big.”
‘Oh!’

“And I want to test it.”
‘Okay!’

And so we moved to the courtyard and Hippolius became big again.

“It’s this door… I tried to make it so that it would be easy to open.”
“Kyuo!”

The hallway door was made similar to the house door.

“It would be convenient if you don’t have to shrink every time, right?”
‘Thank you!’

Hippolius wagged its tail and used its mouth to pull open the door.

‘Open!’

“You are very clever.”
“Kyuo!”

I then went into the hallway and opened the door into the house.

And then we went inside.

‘Got in!’

“Was that hard?”

‘No!’

“That’s good.”

“Kyuo!”

After I confirmed that the door worked without any problems, we departed for Ije’s village.

“Kuro, Roro, Ruru. Get inside this basket.”

‘In!’

“Au.”

‘Okay.’

I had made it for them before, for when we went into the mountains to gather vegetables.

The basket was quite heavy when they were all inside.

But it was good exercise.

And like that, I started walking with the enlarged Hippolius, Ije, Fio and Shiro.

Of course, Pii was on my shoulder.

“Ije’s village, huh. I would like to go.”

“Ah, indeed. I have never been there either.”

And so Gisela and Kelly accompanied us as well.

Gisela was carrying Boeboe.

“Huh? You two are coming too?”

“Is that a problem?”

Kelly asked.

“No, it’s not… But why?”

“You are going to search for sugar beet, aren’t you? And I want to know about the plants on this continent.”

Well, that was her job.

Kelly was a monsterologist, but she also knew a lot about plants and all lifeforms.

So she would want to know about what kind of environment the sugar beets grew in.

“So, what about you, Gisela?”

“I’m not going. I have to take Boeboe back to Boaboa’s house.”

Apparently, she was just going part of the way with us.

“After all, I want to play with Boaboa and Boeboe.”

Gisela probably wanted to make sure they didn’t feel lonely so soon after moving to the base.

“I see. Well, I’ll leave them to you then.”
“Yes. But if you need my help, Mr. Theo. Please tell me.”
“Aye. I will not hesitate when the time comes.”

After a short while, Boaboa’s house came into view.

“Grau-grau!”

Dragon saw us approaching, and it flapped its wings and ran towards us.

“Dragon. Have you had lunch yet?”
“Grau.”
“Hmm. You don’t need lunch because you had breakfast.”

“Grau.”

While dragon was big, he did not eat much.

Upon hearing us talk, Boaboa also came out.

“Bui. Bubo.”
“And you look well too, Boaboa.”
“Bubo.”

“Is the house comfortable?”

I had just built the house yesterday.

And so they had spent their first night in it.

“Bui-bui.”
“Buo.”

Boaboa and Boeboe said that they were able to sleep very well.

Especially Boaboa, who said it was the best sleep she ever had.

I suppose it was different from sleeping in the wild, where you were always in danger.

Regardless, I was happy that they liked the house.
